Preparing for Tropical Storm Debby

August 9th, 2024

The most recent forecast from the National Weather Service continues to predict periods of heavy rain that could cause scattered flash and river flooding as the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby moves through Vermont Friday and Saturday.

Sandbags are available for pick-up in front of City Hall and the Heney Lot at 60 State Street

July 11th Flooding Updates

Montpelier faired relatively well in the 7/10/24 flooding, with the Winooski River cresting at 14.45 feet at 3:30am. That is 0.55 feet below minor flood stage. City crews were out keeping culverts clear and removing debris from bridges throughout the night. MYCC crews and volunteers filled and placed sandbags. Overall the City was minimally impacted. Other surrounding communities were not so fortunate. Below is how you can help out in other towns. Please confirm your route on 511 before traveling.
